Two Views

I first saw the White Throne in Zion National Park when I was a child. Sometimes when you remember something from your childhood when you see it later it is not nearly so grand. This was different. I was anxious to see this one amazing mount of whitish granite. All the more startling since it is surrounded by towering red rocks. I saw the Throne and felt chills all over my skin. I think I appreciated it more now that I am an adult than when I first viewed it as a child. The shuttle stopped on one side so I was able to get pictures. Several stops later I realize I am now on the other side. Perhaps you can grasp the size when I tell you that the green fuzz on top is full grown pine trees. Massive. I am so thankful that this canyon is part of the national park system and my grand children will be able to feel the same thrill as I do.
