Taking pictures of a bird I called a hawk, I was informed that it was an osprey. According to WIKI another name for osprey is Sea Hawk. One case where we are both right. What I learned from Dick George at the Zoo, spilled over to walks in the park. This guy was hanging out by the lake to see what tasty fishy morsels were available. The last picture I found more disturbing after taking a good look. I wonder, is he checking me out to see if I am eatable. Ooo scary.
Similar subjects, I changed background by moving me. You can see the difference. Don't like the picture, try moving to a different point of view. I think this works for a lot of things. :)
I spent the weekend at an awesome Zoo workshop put on by Arizona Highways with photographer Dick George. He showed me the power of turning the camera, plus several other very cool tips that I will pass on over the next few days. I learned these principals in class, Dick showed the practical application. Very awesome.
There are some concepts I need to see it to believe it. These two shots are about 3 seconds apart, just enough time to change my camera from horizontal to vertical. I was stunned by the difference in composition.
I love my camera. I get their faces without being in their faces. Most never knew I snapped their picture. I have no idea who they are, so they will all remain nameless.
For some people it is not the midway or the exhibits that draw their attention, it is all about the rides. Zipping, twisting, and dizzying heights a trill to find yourself in a world totally different from the firm ground normally under our feet.
Thanks to Marsha for letting me know that Friday at the AZ State Fair only cost a buck. I spent the afternoon trying to capture my definition of the fair. I decided it isn't just one thing so I guess I will post several images that I really like.
Good Better Best These pictures were shot within seconds of each other. The decisive moment is when all the elements come together in the best picture possible. I know I hit it right when I open the picture and gasp with pleasure.
I needed a break from homework and looked for one of my pictures that I feel calm when I view it. I am behind and am getting further behind, but it was so worth all the pictures I took.
Walking through the park and found him sitting as if he were waiting for us. His Dad was just across the sidewalk allowing him to set the pace of their walk. One shot was all I got.
